Let me introduce myself – I am Ilaria Baldini and I am responsible for the teaching of the French, Swedish and English languages at Universal Speaking. After a 3-year Degree in Languages and Cultural Studies, I began to work as a Educational Tutor for Special Learning Needs’ students, teaching them Italian, English and French. In addition, during the 2-year period of my training, after having also attended a summer course for the Swedish language and culture at the Billströmska Folkhögskolan in Tjörn, Sweden, I began working in a tutoring capacity in Swedish at the Language and Literature Faculty for Foreigners here in Genoa and, in March 2017, I successfully obtained my Degree in Languages for International Communication and Collaboration, specialising in French and Swedish, languages that I am proud to say I continue actively practising today thanks to my frequent stays abroad. Shortly following my graduation, I started work as an external tutor at the International School in Genoa and since November 2017, in addition, I have been teaching Swedish as an extra-curricular subject at the International Grazia Deledda Secondary School also here in Genoa.

My greatest passions in life are languages and, therefore, teaching brings me immense personal satisfaction and gratification. During my lessons, I do my utmost to transmit this enthusiasm to my students, believing that using methods and tools (books, videos audio aids etc.) for an academic approach, focused on the study of the language and its theoretical aspects, can be successfully combined with a more lively and enjoyable one which enables the student to also linger on typical aspects and characteristics regarding the culture, customs and traditions of the country in question. The strong-rooted objective of my lessons is that of providing the students with the most suitable tools right from the very first lesson in order to create a close-up environment in which the students are actively involved and their interest and curiosity kept alive.
