Привет! Let me introduce myself – I’m Margarita and I was born in Moscow where I achieved a Degree in Italian and French Romance Philology, specialising in the teaching of Russian to foreigners and obtaining a Master’s Degree in “Methods of Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language” at the University of Moscow. In 2017, I moved to Italy in order to complete my studies and, did so successfully, by gaining a further MA Degree in Translating and Interpreting. Currently, a part of my work involves working as a tutor for the Russian language at the University of Genoa.

My lessons are primarily focused on understanding the individual needs of a student whilst backing this up with group work, which I consider to be fundamental for really stimulating a student in their progress of learning a language. Although, undoubtedly, improving a student’s writing skills in a language is important, I also put a strong emphasis on the oral aspect of the language. In fact, during my lessons I ensure there is always ample time for students to practice their conversational skills, also with the use of images and gestures, together with using ways to improve pronunciation, without overlooking the necessary teaching of grammar and the skills of writing and comprehension. What I also pride myself on is the ability to convey my strong passion for my own mother-tongue of Russian and the Russian culture to all the students in order to keep them keenly interested, stimulated and motivated throughout their courses.
